Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about ozone therapy, our treatments, and what to expect at Paras Ozone Therapy Center.
What is ozone therapy and how does it work?
Ozone therapy is a form of alternative medicine that uses medical-grade ozone (O3) - a molecule made up of three oxygen atoms. When introduced to the body through various methods, ozone enhances oxygen delivery to cells, stimulates the immune system, kills bacteria/viruses/fungi, reduces inflammation, and accelerates healing. It works by triggering your body's natural healing responses.
Is ozone therapy safe?
When administered by trained practitioners using proper equipment and protocols, ozone therapy has an excellent safety record spanning decades of clinical use worldwide. At Paras Ozone Therapy Center, Dr. Vishal Shah follows internationally recognized protocols from the Ozone Forum of India. Most patients experience no side effects. Some may have mild temporary fatigue for 24 hours after systemic treatments.
What conditions can ozone therapy treat?
Ozone therapy can help with chronic wounds and diabetic ulcers, joint pain and arthritis, back pain and sciatica, chronic infections, skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, acne), chronic fatigue, immune disorders, respiratory issues, and neurological conditions. During consultation, Dr. Shah will evaluate if ozone therapy is appropriate for your specific condition.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on your condition and its severity. Acute conditions may improve in 3-5 sessions, while chronic conditions typically require 10-20 sessions. Dr. Shah will create a personalized treatment plan during your consultation. Many patients notice improvement within the first few sessions.
What happens during my first visit?
Your first visit includes a detailed 60-90 minute consultation with Dr. Vishal Shah. He will review your medical history, current health concerns, previous treatments, and determine if ozone therapy is appropriate for your condition. You'll learn about the specific ozone therapy method recommended for you, treatment duration, expected outcomes, and costs.
What are the different ozone therapy methods you offer?
We offer 9 specialized methods: Major Autohemotherapy (MAH), Minor Autohemotherapy, Rectal Insufflation, Vaginal Insufflation, Ear Insufflation, Ozone Sauna, Limb Bagging/Ozone Cupping, Ozonated Water and Oils, and Prolozone (joint injections). Each method is suited for different conditions and health goals.
What is Prolozone therapy for joint pain?
Prolozone is a revolutionary non-surgical treatment that combines ozone with nutrients injected directly into painful joints. It stimulates the body's natural regeneration processes to repair damaged cartilage and reduce inflammation. Highly effective for knee pain, arthritis, frozen shoulder, and back pain. Most patients experience significant pain relief within 3-5 sessions.
Is ozone therapy covered by insurance?
Ozone therapy is considered an alternative/integrative medicine treatment and is typically not covered by standard health insurance in India. However, we provide detailed treatment invoices that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement under certain policies. We recommend checking with your insurance provider.
What are the costs of ozone therapy?
Costs vary depending on the specific treatment method and number of sessions required. We provide transparent pricing during your consultation. Many patients find ozone therapy cost-effective compared to ongoing medication costs for chronic conditions. Please call us or schedule a consultation for detailed pricing information.
